F4 Challenge “The New Platform in Automotive Showmanship”

Do You and Your Ride Have What It Takes?

http://www.F4Challenge.com

To all you automotive gear heads out there are you ready for a new and exciting platform that will change the way you think of automotive showmanship events. We are proud to introduce the all-new F4 Challenge, brought to you by Andy Goodman, founder of the NCCA and a team of elite automotive experts with more then fifty years of combined automotive experience.

The main criteria for the F4 Challenge will be based on fabrication, fitment, form and functionality. The highly skilled and qualified team of experts will be looking at these four fundamentals to determine the stand out vehicles in both the amateur and experienced classes.

The new F4 Challenge will focus on craftsmanship, execution, creativity, and construction which will make it possible for a mildly modified vehicle to be competitive against a highly modified vehicle. Gone are the days of over the top show cars, where quantity outweighed quality, and cars that were not built with functionality. No longer is it about how much money you spend on your car, but it is about how wisely your money is spent on planning, research and development. The F4 Challenge platform will also make it possible for all segments of automotives to participate, that’s right F4 will cater to import or domestic, truck or SUV, classic or modern, gas or hybrid, all automotive vehicles are all welcome. F4 will have just one rule, no stock vehicles will be allowed to participate, as the new F4 Challenge is designed for all types of custom motor vehicles

The F4Challlenge is here to lead the car show segment into a bright future. With an executive board of elite industry affiliates, which have been selected specifically for their expertise the F4 Challenge is about to set a new standard with its focus about the car builders who keep the automotive industry alive.

Stay tuned, as the F4 Challenge will be coming to a city near you in 2009.

Better Late Than Never

This is a post I’ve been meaning to put up for a while, just haven’t had the time to get around to it. Yes, I promised Post SEMA updates, but thats not going to happen now, there’s no sense in beating a dead horse, or something like that.

After SEMA we all went back to Irvine, California where I stayed the weekend before going back home to Miami. This worked out well because the Florida Panthers were in town playing the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday the ninth of November. This of course was an amazing opportunity to catch a road Panthers game which I am now trying to do at least once a year, but we will see if that happens. This all started last year when I was in Toronto at the same time the Panthers were in town. Getting tickets in Toronto wasn’t easy but we got it done.

Scoring tickets for the Ducks/Cats game was a bit easier, and we could actually see the entire ice, unlike the view from 30,000ft at the Air Canada Centre. It was cool to be in an opposing arena in a Panthers jersey, and then it was even cooler the fact that they beat the Ducks that night. David Booth, our hometown hero, netted a hat trick and won the game. Of course I was screaming up the place and going on bad.

Here are a few photos from Anaheim.

Branew Nissan GTR

Branew, a Japanese aero company has released some new aero parts for the Nissan GTR. Branew is famed for creating aero and accessories for high end luxury vehicles and they have definitely brought over their styling and influence onto the GTR. The Branew kit includes a front lip, side skirts, rear diffuser, rear lip spoiler, a functional rear wing, and a triple pipe center mounted exhaust system.  The front lip and side skirts have some slick white carbon accents added also. Now, the real question, did anybody notice any of that stuff? The star of the show here ladies and gentlemen are the 23″ wheels that Branew fitted to the GTR. A bit too large for my taste but they are definitely getting some good press for this new project. Check this thing out at SEMA next week!

Lexus at SEMA

My favorite car in the world (right now) is the Lexus IS F. I just love the lines and the crazy looking fenders on the car. The following photos were released recently, just a preview of what will be showing up at SEMA with a Lexus badge on it. Import Tuner Magazine got their hands dirty along with Fox Marketing amongst others who took a stab at building what Lexus feels is the most tuner friendly car in their line up of cars. Other news from SEMA, 5 Axis, who has created some of the most incredible projects ever is debuting a Lexus GS 460, I am pretty sure its safe to say that GS will be extremely bad ass. I’ll have photos up after SEMA. Check out these Lexus IS’s that will be SEMA-ing next week.

No More Boost for Turbo :(

More bad industry news, another automotive publication gets the ax. Rumor has it, Turbo Magazine, who was one of the OG tuner books has ended their fifteen year run. I remember back in high school picking up a Turbo Magazine  and flipping through hundreds of pages of sales ad’s and crazy tuner cars. Since then, Turbo’s page count has dwindled. This is the same story for many of the other tuner books out there, five years ago  you’d be holding a small bible in your hands, hundreds of pages and tons of ads to the  point where you wouldn’t want to read the whole thing.
Maybe online magazines are the way to go? It looks as though the tuner market is really struggling, I am interested to see how things go next year. Stay tuned!

Mobil 1 SEMA Porsche 996 Turbo Sneak Peek

Theory Communication and Design (www.theoryconcept.com) has teamed up with one of the top industry icons, to build a one of a kind Porsche 996 Turbo on behalf of Mobil 1. Vincent Wong, from iForged wheels, is no stranger to building high profile SEMA cars and this year he has taken things to a whole new level. Wong has worked closely with Theory over the past several months to build the perfect vehicle for the Mobil 1 SEMA booth.

Wong, the owner of iForged Wheels, shared with us the reasoning on why he built this Porsche the way he did. “I have strived to take one of the best engineered cars from Porsche and add my personal touch to it. I have always believed in building a car following the “show and go” concept. Even though a car looks beautiful, it should also be able to back up its good looks. Every modification performed on the car has a purpose and at the end of the day I hope people will be able to appreciate the hard work and long hours that have gone into building our one of a kind creation.”

Some of the highlights that will really make Wong’s Porsche stand out in the Mobil 1 booth, at the SEMA show, included the complete Porsche 997 TechArt GT Street wide body conversion, BASF Glasurit Porsche 997 GT3 RS Green paint job, Artisan 650HP Turbo upgrade package with Softronic ECU programming, Evolution Motorsports EVOMS intake system, Spec Clutch lightweight flywheel and Stage 3+ clutch, Custom Creative Car Audio and Motorsports custom stereo install featuring Rockford Stereo components, MA carbon fiber interior kit, GMG color matched 6 PT. roll cage, 15″ front and rear Brembo brake upgrade and of course a custom set of iForged 20×8.5 and 20×12.5 Neo wheels which are matched to Toyo Proxes T1-R 245/30/20 and 345/25/20 tires.

With less then one week to the SEMA show in Las Vegas, the buzz about the Mobil 1 Porsche 996 has been building as this amazing piece of machinery will be unveiled and showcased in the Mobil 1 booth (#25173) next week. For more information, please visit http://www.Mobil1.com.

GT-R Sedan?

Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, Nissan/Infiniti decides to add two extra doors. Apparently the brains at Nissan want to stretch the frame of the GT-R add two doors, and additional two cylinders into the mix. a 5.0 liter V8 engine would find its way under the hood of what is to be badged as an Inifiniti in 2010. You can expect to pay around $100,000.00 for this GT-R saloon. Questions? Comments? Opinions?
